Unpaid family members, friends, neighbors and other selfless, wonderful people who provide unceasing care for a beloved person in their life.
About the Network
The Caregiver Network, created in collaboration with Jenny Snow Ashbrook of Wallingford, PA, seeks to provide that sense of support and other financial resources for the caregivers of those living with colon cancer through the Tony Snow & Betty Jo Caregiver Network.
Illness ranks in the top 3 reasons people lose their homes. The CDC reports statistics that show not only does the financial constraint in the household increase, but the caregiver’s own health burden increases.
83% of caregivers are family, and
53% say their health has declined and that affects their ability to provide care.
67% do not go to the doctor because they put their family’s needs first, and
57% put the care recipient’s needs over their own.
51% said they do not have time to take care of themselves, and
49% are too tired to do so.
This network looks to provide resources and support to help caregivers through these difficult times.
